Season Preview: Fayetteville Christian Warriors
The Fayetteville Christian Warriors will look to build off of the things they learned last year and attempt to put together a more successful season this year. The Warriors lose a few players to transfer and graduation but they bring back some nice talent and two transfers who we feel can make very nice impacts for the squad.
2020 Forward Jaden Scriven: Jaden comes in from 71st HS where he had a successful season last year and we expect an even more successful year from him this year. His ability to play inside and out as well as his lean body structure are all some things that have caught the attention of college coaches, the 6’4 Forward should see a rise in his recruitment rise sooner than later.
2019 Guard Bennett Newman: He is one of the few returning veterans on this squad, he had a very nice season last year and should pick right up where he left off. His ability to knock down shots from deep is one of the things he’s best known for, but he also the ability to slash to the basket for easy buckets.
2019 Guard Avery Daniels: Last season was his first year of playing varsity basketball in the area, but he turned plenty of heads with his play from day one. He can score the ball at a very nice rate, has good upper body strength and does not get rattled under pressure, very solid player who should have a nice season.
2019 Forward Jaden Kirkland: Jaden comes in from Freedom Christian where he played sparingly but he should see a lot more time this year at FCS. He can score the ball from inside and midrange but makes the most impact with his ability to rebound the ball at a high rate.
2020 Wing Jacob Webster: He is a player to keep an eye on over the next two season, we like his upside, it’s just a question now of when he will turn the corner. Shooting the ball from deep is something he does well, just getting the shot off quicker and shooting with more confidence are things we would love to see from him.
