Region Preview: 4A Skyline
The 4A Skyline region is one of the toughest regions in the state, regardless of classification. Shadow Mountain is as good as anyone while Moon Valley will be very skilled as well. These two will feature top tier backcourts. Moreover, St. Mary’s is going to be tough and compete at a high level.
1. Shadow Mountain
Where does one even begin with Shadow Mountain. This team is as good as it gets, especially at the 4A level. This team is one of the top teams in the nation, let alone the state or 4A. As of this team is not good enough, they received out of state transfers who will aid them in being that much better.
Jaelen House is a dog. There is not much else to say. He plays the game with a lot of passion and a chip on his shoulder. He is not afraid of the moment and does whatever it takes to win. If there is 5 seconds on the clock, there is not a player in the state whom I would rather give the ball to.
House will be joined by another one of the top guards in the west coast in Jovan Blacksher. Blacksher is yet another dog in this talented backcourt who can make those around him better as well as score the basketball at a high rate. Between these two, Shadow has more than enough talent to win the 4A state championship.
Add Antonio Reeves and Shemar Morrow as well as the other talented transfers to the mix. This group will be as stout of a group as there is.
2. Moon Valley
Moon Valley will be really solid this upcoming season between the backcourt of Ty Harper and Trent Hudgens. These two prospects, who play with Team Harden, are extremely skilled and will give this group one of the most athletic backcourts in the state.
Hudgens is one of the most under-rated guards in the state. He is dynamic and can score the basketball from an array of spots on the floor. Moreover, he is a stout defender. Hudgens will be the key to Moon Valley’s success this upcoming season.
With that said, he will have a new backcourt teammate who participated with him in club ball and will bring the team good athleticism. Harper is one of the best overall athletes in the state. He is able to make plays that few prospects in the state can make. This will be a tough backcourt that will be fun to watch against Blacksher and House.
3. St. Mary’s
St. Mary’s brings back a good core of their team and will be extremely competitive in one of the top 4A regions in the state. Reece Taylor provides the group with leadership and athleticism. He is one of the most athletic prospects in the region.
In addition to Taylor, Keiren Brown is a skilled guard who will be more physically prepared this upcoming season. As if these two were not enough, Deven Dahlke brings yet another skilled underclassmen prospect to the roster.
St. Mary’s will be much improved this upcoming season. Further, behind Brown and Dahlke, this group has a lot of potential going forward.
