Recruiting Update: Cole Northrup (2019 Richland HS)
Cole Northrup is being patient with the process. The high scoring 6-foot-4, 180-pound shooting guard from Richland High School was hampered a bit by injury this summer, but when healthy was able to do his thing on the basketball floor. Northrup is looking forward to playing out his senior season, hoping that the scholarship offers come his way as he helps the Bombers make a deep playoff run.
“I sprained my ankle but other than that, I’ve been preparing for high school season,” Northrup said. “But the summer went good. Our schedule was messed up a little but I felt like I was able to get my defense up a lot and I shot it really good as I played with the team.”
Northrup suited up for Eastern Washington Elite Red and did on the circuit what he does best – shoot it from long range. From a recruiting perspective, he notes that he has been talking to Idaho for quite a while now, but some others such as Portland and Northwest Nazarene have been in contact. Are there any offers on the table for the long range bomber?
“Not yet, but I’m pretty sure I’ll get something by the end of the season,” Northrup said. “I think we’re going back to state for sure. And I’m hoping that I can make some top all-state teams and all-tournament (individually).”
