Recruiting Update: Aaron Deloney (2019 Grant HS/Rose City Rebels)
School has started and you bet Aaron Deloney is busy. Not only has the senior been busy with the academic load of his senior year, but he’s been busy sorting out his college recruitment as well. Deloney has started to schedule his official visits to schools with the hopes of coming to a decision by the early signing period.
Currently Deloney’s main four schools at this time are (in no particular order) Portland State, Vermont, Northern Colorado, and Cal Baptist. All four have offered scholarships and are considering him a priority recruit – and Deloney is looking to make an official visit to each.
Portland State made an in-home visit the first day they could (September 9th) and will also get his first official visit (the weekend of the 29th). Vermont – who is the most recent to offer a scholarship – is set up for the following weekend (October 6), and dates for Northern Colorado and Cal Baptist are still getting worked out.
Deloney is looking forward to making his visits in anticipation of an choice in November. “I’ll visit all of those and then decide when I’m done with all that,” Deloney said. “I’ll just be looking at the basic stuff – get to know the coaches well, what they want, and how they are going to use me, and how they treat folks – the love around it. I’m just open right now and seeing what everyone has to offer.”
As he gets set for his visits, Deloney has kept busy with his schoolwork but also with the start of Fall League and an individual goal of his. “I’m working on that man body right now – trying to get stronger,” Deloney said. “I know that this year is going to go by fast so I’m working on my body, getting bigger, eating more, and lifting a lot.”
Deloney ranks as the #2 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2019 rankings.
