Recruiting Report: Terrence Butler Jr. (2021)
Terrence Butler Jr., a high academic standout sophomore forward at Bishop McNamara High School, is considered among the most versatile recruits locally in his class. Butler has had a strong series of showings this spring, summer, and now fall in various settings. He spoke a little on the improvements he has made to his overall game among other topics during a recent interview with Prep Hoops.
PH: For those who haven’t seen you play, how would you describe your game?
TB: “I’m more of a stretch forward. I get to the basket. I shoot a lot of threes.”
PH: What’s the most underrated part of your overall game?
TB: “My ball handling. People think because of my height, I can’t get to the basket or bring the ball up the court. Every time I get on the court I call for the ball, and I’m ready.”
PH: What’s the most improved part of your overall game?
TB: “Definitely my shot.”
PH: What do you need to work on?
TB: “On-ball defense.”
PH: How are your grades?
TB: “4.0+. Always!.”
PH: What’s your role going to be like this year in high school?
TB: “Same thing. Stretch forward. Get more involved in the scoring versus last year.”
PH: Who’s recruiting you right now?
TB: “I have an offer from James Madison. I have current interest from schools like George Mason, George Washington, and Mount St. Mary’s.”
PH: What do you think you can bring to a college program?
TB: “Diversity. I’m versatile, I can guard people in the post. I can guard people on the wing, and up top. I can provide another source of scoring.”
