The senior guard is the lone returning starter for Patriot High School this upcoming winter and has been working on his ability to attack the basket, ultimately adding to his offensive game.
“I’ve always been able to shoot the ball,” Parrish said. “So I’ve been working on making quick moves to the basket.
“I am working on getting stronger as well.”
Standing at 6-foot-3, Parrish has the size to play both guard positions but tends to get a lot of his looks from the wing. Check out selected highlights from previous seasons on his Hudl page here.
Over the summer, Parrish ran with the Virginia Playmakers and was able to attract some interest from several college programs. JMU, Seton Hill, Malone, Christopher Newport, Bridgewater Washington, Catholic and Wilson are the schools Parrish listed.
“I got a lot of interest,” Parrish said. “No offers yet, but hopefully those will come soon.
“I shot the ball really well and I was aggressive towards the basket. As a team, we played pretty well. We started out slow at the beginning of the season, but once we got to live period, we started competing against the high-level teams.”
As far as his final high school campaign is concerned, Parrish is excited about the pieces that the Patriots have returning. Despite the lack of experience, the Pioneers don’t lack skill.
“We have some good pieces coming in,” Parrish said. We have everything from shooters to passers to rebounders – we have everything.
“We have a lot of pieces.”
