East Ridge nationally ranked top 50 power forward Ben Carlson has been as active as anybody when it comes to getting out and seeing schools.  Carlson recently took a pair of trips to Midwest schools.

In August Ben went with his family to watch his sister compete for K-State’s volleyball team and along the way went by both division one schools in Nebraska (Nebraska and Creighton).

“It was my second time at Creighton – the first was in September of last year,” Carlson said. “I was able to talk a lot more with the coaches, met the athletic director and the players came to watch my sister play volleyball. The biggest thing was getting to know the coaches more. I really like the coaches, coach Lusk and getting to know him more.”

After Creighton the Carlson family went to Lincoln.

“We saw the academic facilities and I talked to coach Miles and (coach) Molinari,” Ben said. “This visit was talking more about where they see me and where I would fit into their system.  They have really nice facilities. (They see me as a) stretch four, mixed with a wing is the player they see me as.”
