Recruiting Recap: 2020 Offers, Visits and Predictions
The Junior class in Kentucky is a little under-recruited compared to the 2018 and 2019 classes at the same time in the recruiting cycle. But there are multiple players with offers and several kids who are making their way around the south for visits. Here’s a quick recap of where players stand in their recruiting and a couple of predictions about what’s next.
Offers:
McCracken County’s Jackson Sivills has offers from Samford, Kent State, UT-Martin, NKU, Rice, Murray State and Saint Louis.
Collins Point Guard Dayvion McKnight holds offers from Kentucky State, Winthrop and Western Kentucky.
McKnight’s back court mate at Collins, Marcellus Vail was offered by D2 Kentucky State this past weekend.
Bardstown Forward JJ Traynor holds an offer from NAIA Georgetown College.
Madisonville-North Hopkins Wing Kenny White has offers from Kent State and UT-Martin.
Visits:
Henry Clay’s Marques Warrick has visited NKU and EKU in addition to attending elite camp at UAB.
Matt Cromer of South Laurel took a visit to Western Carolina this past weekend.
The aforementioned JJ Traynor is headed on a visit to Purdue in November.
Colin Doss of Saint Mary takes a visit to Olivet Nazarene this winter.
Predictions
By the time we get to signing day in Spring 2020 (a long way away), at least 12 Kentuckians will hold D1 offers in the 2020 Class.
At least two of the 5 players already holding offers (Sivills, McKnight, Vail, Traynor and White) will end up as high major recruits.
Someone outside the top 10 of our current rankings will end up with multiple Division 1 offers. My guess is South Oldham’s Luke Morrison.
There may not be as many D1 recruits as we have seen in recent classes, the 2020 class will be full of difference makers at the D2 and NAIA level.
