Prospect spotlight: Sterling Chapman (2021)
A talented lead guard with good size, athleticism and court vision, Campus 2021 Sterling Chapman is gearing up for a breakout season after a strong offseason,
At 6’4, Chapman has enough size to easily see over a defense and brings good court vision and playmaking skills to the hardwood. He can play either guard position, can knock down outside shots and is capable of finishing at the rim.
While he says there is always room for improvement, Chapman says he works hard to help make his teammates better.
He spent the offseason competing for the Kansas Players and says the opportunity has helped prepare him for the upcoming season.
“The Kansas Players have given me a chance to travel the country and play great players, and it’s also gives me an edge for my high school season because I’ve been playing all summer,” Chapman said.
Chapman says he continues to work to get stronger and has worked throughout the offseason improving his jump shot and getting better at the defensive end of the floor.
He says his dad has had the biggest impact on his basketball career to date, pushing him to be his best.
A fan of Lebron James, Chapman says he tries to implement as much of the NBA star’s game as he can.
“I try implement as much as I can from his game like his passing skill/IQ and his driving and finishing also his defense and his alertness on the court also his scoring ability I love how he competes,” Chapman said.
