Prospect Spotlight: Nate Lacey (2020)
Nate Lacey, a class of 2020 wing out of Sherwood High School, was one of the hardest working players we saw throughout the day at the Sixth Annual DMVElite 80 earlier this month. Lacey stood out as a potential lockdown defender with versatility. During a recent interview with Prep Hoops, he spoke on his overall game and his goals for the season among other topics.
PH: For those who haven’t seen you play, describe your game.
NL: “My game is basically attack the rim, dish out to my teammates, make good plays for my teammates, and myself.”
PH: What’s the most underrated part of your game?
NL: “Probably my passing.”
PH: What’s the most improved part of your game in recent months?
NL: “I’d probably say my mid range jump shot.”
PH: How are your grades?
NL: “I have over a 3.2 GPA.”
PH: What are you working on?
NL: “Right now, my three-point shot, and my left hand.”
PH: Who’s recruiting you right now?
NL: “I have some interest from NEC schools. Sacred Heart University is standing out right now.”
PH: What are your goals for the season?
NL: “Lead my team to Xfinity Center.”
PH: What’s going to need to happen in order for you to accomplish that goal?
NL: “I need to step up as a leader on the team, and keep getting buckets.”
PH: Have you always been considered a leader? Or is this something new for you?
NL: “I’ve had a big role in the past, but now the weight of the team is on me.”
PH: What do you think you can bring to a college program?
NL: “First off, a strong academic record. Also a good motor, and energy on the court.
