At 6’7, the 2020 forward is a good finisher around the basket, has a short jumper that he uses out to 15 feet or so, and is a willing and able offensive rebounder. However, his calling card as a player is his tough interior defense and ability to block shots.
He is coming off a strong summer competing for MoKan Select 16U squad and says the experience helped prepare him for the upcoming season.
“I feel like playing for Mokan really helped me with my physical game more then my mental game,” he says. “The more physical I played over the summer the better it made my all around game.”
Brougham says he has spent the offseason working on his outside game, including his jump shot, ball handling and ability to get to the basket off the bounce.
He says his first coach, Byron, has had the biggest impact on his basketball career to date.
“It has to be my first coach, Byron, he brought me to basketball and pushed me to excel,” Brougham said. “He then led me to Mokan to get more exposure.”
A fan of Russell Westbrook, Brougham says he enjoys the passion and energy the OKC Thunder guard plays with.
“I love to watch Westbrook play, the energy and explosiveness that he brings to every game,” Brougham said. “I’ve learned to communicate to my teammates and give them energy when they need it.”
