Prospect Spotlight: Cody Kellem
Cody Kellem was a key contributor, hitting 27 threes for the state champs last year. Kellem’s role figures to increase this season. The 6-foot-2 sharpshooting guard showed that he can get into the lane and attack the basket when we saw him recently at Wakefield Fall League. During a recent interview with Prep Hoops, Kellem spoke more on his overall game and his aspirations among other topics.
PH: For those who haven’t seen you play, how would you describe your game?
CK: “I’m a three-point shooter. I like to drive to the rim also. Defensively, I am aggressive.”
PH: What’s the most threes you’ve hit in a high school game?
CK: “8. Last year against Woodson.”
PH: What’s the most improved part of your game?
CK: “My jumping ability. I worked out over the summer with my old coach from AAU. Working on weight training. Getting my body stronger.”
PH: How are your grades?
CK: “I have a 3.0 GPA.”
PH: How would you rate your AAU season? 1-10.
CK: “8. I could have done better.”
PH: What are your short and long term goals?
CK: “I want to play college basketball at the highest level. After that, see if I can make it to the NBA. If not, I would like to pursue a sports business major.”
PH: What do you think you can bring to a college program down the road?
CK: “High intensity and spirit.”
