Program Awards: Louisville Legends
With the 2018 AAU season in the rear view mirror, we are going to dive into programs across the state looking at their teams in a variety of categories in our Program Awards! Today we examine Louisville Legends!
Program MVP
Desean Allen Eikens, Aspire Academy
Allen Eikens had a monster summer with the Legends and added a ton of offers over the course of the month. Desean is a long and decently athletic wing who is going to find a good home at the mid major or better D1 level when the dust settles after the 2018-19 season.
Top 2019 Prospect
The 17u team for the Legends was basically just their 16u playing along with Allen-Eikens. So Allen Eikens doubles as their program MVP and the top 2019 prospect.
Top 2020/2021 Prospect
Dallas Rufus, Waggener
One of my favorite players in the 2020 class, Dallas is a really solid point guard prospect who continues to improve with every viewing. Steady and smart, Rufus is going to stay amongst the top point guards in the class for a while and should have a big Junior year for Waggener.
Sleeper
Chesimon Moore, Louisville Collegiate
Moore has everything you look for in a college basketball wing except one thing. A lack of shooting really hurts him. Moore is 6’4, super long and crazy athletic. If Chez can get in the gym and improve his shooting and ball handling he can be a division I wing. If he just stays a super athlete and doesn’t raise his skill level, his ceiling is significantly lower.
Biggest Stock Riser
Eli Roberts, Manual
Eli looks the part of a college post player at 6’7. He’s big bodied and skilled and just spent much of his 16u season playing up a grade level and doing so effectively. Every time I see Roberts I am intrigued by his size and ability. If he improves his conditioning and keeps getting stronger, Eli Roberts could wind up at the D1 level. Especially with another strong AAU season.
