Player of the Year: 2020 Bryce Coppock, Newell-Fonda

One of the most productive players in the 2020 class, the diminutive but talented lead guard can dominate games in a number of ways. He’s a gifted scorer and facilitator who leads a Newell-Fonda team that could be among the best in 1A this year.

First Team

2020 Bryce Coppock, Newell-Fonda (21.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.3 steals)

A 5-9 junior, Coppock has been one of the most productive players in the state during his first two seasons. The Mustangs, and conference’s, leading scorer, he leads the team that should be the best in the league.

2019 Jace Davidson, Pocahontas Area (21.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 2.4 steals)

A strong, creative scoring guard, Davidson thrives on getting into the paint and scoring or getting to the free throw line. He’s also the leading returnee in assists.

2019 Tom Geelan, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire (14.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 52.0 FG%)

A big, playmaking guard, look for Geelan’s assist numbers to spike this winter following the graduation of Jacob Conlon.

2019 Hunter Decker, Sioux Central (14.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 68 3PM)

The 5-11 senior guard led the conference in 3-pointers made last season, and he did so at a very respectable 40.2% clip.

2019 Jared Birks, South Central Calhoun (13.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists)

The 6-4 forward can do a bit of everything on the floor and will be among the league’s leading rebounders this winter.
