Prep Hoops Top 250: Top Wings
The Prep Hoops Top 250 was a very successful event! There was a lot of talent in the gym and the players were competing for their chance to stick out to a college coach. Here are the top wings:
Keaton Rodgers (Sandra Day O’Connor) 2019 F:
Keaton had one heck of a day. Rodgers shot the lights out, attacked and finished well, and played great defense. He played a very well rounded game and impressed everyone in the gym with the number of points that he scored throughout the day.
JT Elder (Cienaga) 2021 F:
Elder also had a great day, getting to the basket with ease. It did not matter who was guarding him, a big or a guard, he would use his size and speed to his advantage in every situation to get himself to the basket for an easy finish. Elder turned a lot of heads, it seemed like everyone was interested in seeing him play.
Dominic Gonzalez (Ironwood) 2020 G/F:
Gonzalez usually plays the guard position but has the size to play the wing. Today, he got paired up with a couple of other guards that pushed him into the wing spot on his team. Gonzalez handled it well, playing great without any drop off despite playing a position he does not normally play. Dominic showed that he is one of the best shooters in the entire state of Arizona. Additionally, Gonzalez played some great perimeter defense against the other wings in the event.
Caleb Alonso (Desert Ridge) 2020 F:
Caleb stood out to me because of how well he finishes around the rim and how nice of a touch he puts on the ball. Alonso is very long and slim but uses he jumping ability and wing span to finish around defenders.
