Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo: Week 1 National Standouts
The Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo is the premier fall exposure event being played around the country and these events have included some of the nation’s premier talent.
Javon Bell of Santa Fe Catholic (FL) 2020. Bell is a talent from Florida that really grabbed our attention. Bell showed off a pretty stroke at the arc and a mid-range touch. Also an explosive athlete can finish in many ways.
Ty Berry of Newton (KS) 2020. One of the top point guards in the nation played like he’s about to become one of the elite PG’s in the nation. Offers from Iowa, Kansas State, Creighton, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, and others, Berry is looking like a four star level guy.
Damiree Burns of Sophie B Wright (LA) 2019. The athlete that wowed basketball scouts and Adidas foes playing with Louisiana Supreme spent his Expo slashing to score at about 70 percent of his attempts. Burns is approaching ten D1 offers including UAB and Tulane plus he’s been catching TD passes this fall.
Hunter Dean of Lakeshore (LA) 2019. The 6-foot-9 monster power forward had a monster even dominating the paint. Dean had a big summer building offers from Southern Miss, Presbyterian, and Siena and played even better at the Expo than he did in the summer! A guy that colleges should look into if they want a nationally underrated PF.
Moussa Diabate of DME Academy (FL) 2021. Two hand throw downs, open floor runs to finish, short jumpers, face-up attacks, and some outstanding passing out of the pass, that is what 6-10 Moussa Diabate showed at the Florida Expo. This is one of the elite 2021 talents in the nation.
Collin Holloway of Catholic (LA) 2020. Easily one of the most versatile talents that competed at any of the Expos, Collin showed off his range, the attacks to finish, and the aggressive buckets going to the cup. Texas State and McNeese State are ahead of the game offering early.
Robert Jones of Prior Lake (MN) 2019. Jones committed to Denver University on his visit the night before the Expo and then went to the event and completely dominated the paint. He was the most unstoppable player in the 2019 vs 2020 Expo All Star game.
Emareyon McDonald of Lakeshroe (LA) 2021. Four star level guard with one of the best shooting touches in the south and his handles rank with the best as well. He can finish and handle with both hands and is not just a top Louisiana talent, he’s a top 100 national guy. Just visited Auburn.
Keyon Thomas of Bonner Springs (KS) 2019. The KC Spurs spent their spring and summer schooling opponents in team basketball and one of the main pieces was Keyon Thomas. How was Thomas this fall? Nothing has changed. Surely a sleeper schools around the nation may want to look into as a ball handler.
Treyton Thompson of Alexandria (MN) 2021. A 6-foot-10 big with long arms, big hands, and a game that is growing more confident and skilled by the day . The growth that Thompson has shown in the past half year is remarkable and this top 200 level talent with a Texas Tech offer has the potential to hit the top 100 with growth like this.
