Prep Hoops Top 250: 2020 Standouts
The Prep Hoops Top 250 was a very successful event! There was a lot of talent in the gym and the players were competing for their chance to stick out to a college coach. Here are the Class of 2020 standouts:
Dominic Gonzalez (Ironwood) 2020 G/F:
I would say Gonzalez was easily one of the best players in the gym today. He had a great day and continued to be efficient and productive throughout a long and tiring day. Even in game 5, his shot was still falling and he was still bringing a lot of energy on defense.
Caleb Alonso (Desert Ridge) 2020 F:
Calen Alonso brought a lot of hustle today. He was constantly running up and down the floor, getting easy buckets in transition. He really impressed me with his finishing ability. Alonso has nice length and a very soft touch that makes him very hard to defend around the rim.
Josiah Turner (Arizona Compass Prep) 2020 G:
Turned had a great day shooting the ball. He rarely attacked the rim but when he did, he finished. Most of his shots came from mid-range and from deep. He shot the ball very well from deep, knocking down multiple shots per game. The shooting combo of Turner and Gonzalez made their team one of the toughest to play against today.
Jaren Hunziker (Saguaro) 2020 G:
Jaren is undersized but is super crafty. He has a very good change of pace and flow to his game. Jaren is a very good ball handler and uses all of those skills to get past his defender. He did not score the ball very much but was able to penetrate the defense and kick the ball out to open shooters.
