Predicting the DMV’s Top Scorers (Part 1)
In anticipation of the upcoming high school season, we will be taking a closer look at various teams and players throughout Maryland, DC, and Virginia. In this edition we anticipate the top scorers in the DC Metro Area.
BRYCE DOUGLAS | CENTREVILLE ’19
Bryce Douglas has been nothing short of dominant since his arrival at Centreville the year before last. The 6-foot-2 scoring guard, who averaged 20 points per game as a junior, should be in line for another consistently productive campaign.
MAZAE BLAKE | SENECA VALLEY ’20 (20.8 PPG)
Mazae Blake hit 68 threes as a sophomore, including 11 in a single game during his season-high 42 point effort in a win over Quince Orchard. Leaving him off this list would have been a huge mistake.
Mazae Blake, '20 @SenecaValleyHS guard is one of the most slept on #DMVhoops players; explosive with ball, extra gear, can shoot, has vision.

EVAN BUCKLEY | STONE BRIDGE ’19
While on the AAU circuit, you probably won’t see Evan Buckley shoot a ton. What you will see is an efficient point guard who doesn’t turn the ball over, shoots high percentages, and can score in bunches when he needs to. Quite frankly, Buckley is the best guard in the Northern VA public school system, and has a good chance to put up scary good numbers this season.
KAMDYN CURFMAN | GEORGETOWN PREP ’19
During the Capitol Hoops Summer League, Kamdyn Curfman gave us a glimpse of what we can expect from him this season. If those performances are any indication, he should have a good chance to find himself listed among the DMV’s top scorers.
RICHARD DUDLEY | PAINT BRANCH ’19
Richard Dudley can put the ball in the basket at a high clip, and the rest of Montgomery County will have a tall task trying to stop him this year. Dudley was among the top scorers in the DMV as a junior, and we don’t see any reason for this to change.
