These rankings will take into consideration both the players next level abilities, but will also rank guys based on who we believe will have the top seasons in 2018-2019. They encompass all classes outside of rising freshmen, and while it’s impossible to include every kid we did the best we could.
Here’s a look at the top 5 players in the 757 area, and stay tuned for more content of the same coming up soon.
5) Jordan Battle | 6’3” WG | Norfolk Collegiate 2020
A big, strong guard who can fill it up from all over the floor, Battle is one of the top scorers in the state and will likely put up big numbers this year. He has a high motor on both ends of the floor, he can score from all three levels and has great size for the next level. He often has to play and guard multiple positions at the high school level, but all of that has helped him learn how to play the game the right way.
4) Dajour Rucker | 6’6” F | Cape Henry 2019
He’s physical and skilled, and he plays with a high motor which makes him a mismatch nightmare. Committed to Marshall University, Rucker has been one of the top bigs in the area the past few years and he has the chance to lead his team on a playoff run. He can bang in the post and carve out space which allows him to finish over taller bigs, and he can take them outside and shoot the basketball opening driving lanes as well.
3) Allen Strothers | 6’2” PG | Menchville 2021
One of the top freshmen in the state last year, Strothers continues to mature both physically and with his game and he could be the top guard in the area this season. At 6’2” Strothers is a long guard who is explosive around the rim in transition and off set plays. He has great vision and passing ability with the rock in his hands, and while he’s a set up guy first he still has the ability to take over games and be the top scorer every time he steps on the floor as well.
2) Mike Christmas | 6’6” F | Landstown 2019
After a short hiatus to Huntington Prep for the beginning of last season, Christmas came back to Landstown and proved why he’s one of the top players in the 757 the last few seasons. He can play all over the court in high school with his size and athleticism, and he’s a knock down shooter from deep which allows him to score quickly and often. He rebounds like a big and can score like a guard, making him a very productive guy when he’s on the court wherever he is.

- 1) Mark Williams | 6’11” C | Norfolk Academy 2020
One of the top big men in the country, Williams is already an impressive player and his ceiling is unbelievably high. He has ridiculous length, even for a guy that’s already 6’11”, and he has a unique skill set that includes the ability to score over smaller posts, step out and shoot the ball and he can even handle it in transition. Defensively he’s a high level rim protector who can challenge without leaving his feet but also isn’t afraid to challenge at the rim.
