Dishmond is a probably the most physically imposing big of the 2021 class in Louisiana, as he is not just the tallest, but also has a solid frame that makes him tough to move around. He has worked on getting tougher on the court over the last year, and it definitely shows. To go along with his imposing frame, he is probably the most polished of the bigs in 2021. He can score in the post both back to the basket and facing up, and is capable of taking slower defenders of the dribble. On the defensive side of the ball he has a ways to work before before being able to defend on the perimeter, but does a good job of protecting the rim and eating up rebounds on either end.
Will Allen 6’6 Bonnabel
Allen is the first of two players on this list that I think by the time they are seniors they are going to be considered wings, but his skill set right now is definitely a big. He is really gifted athletically, and has the body control to do some pretty impressive things once his feet leave the ground. He is a more than capable finisher around the rim, and has been working hard on expanding his game out beyond 15 feet. He has also been working hard on his handles, and has come a way from where he was. On the defensive side of the the ball, he is probably the best perimeter defender on this list, and looks really good when it comes to multiple ways of guarding a pick and roll.
LaMarc Amos 6’6 David Thibodaux
Amos is the other player on this list that I think is going to be considered a wing sooner rather than later. On the offensive end, he is probably the furthest along for his class and size, and is already an average 3 point shooter. His handles still need to get better in order for to play out on the wing as well. As far as protecting the rim and rebounding, he is one of the best in the state for his grade, as his super long frame and above average athleticism helps a ton, as well as his natural timing when it comes to blocking shots. However when it comes to guarding on the perimeter he still has a long way to go, and plays back on his heels rather than the balls of his feet.
Rollin Belton 6’7 Ruston
My first time seeing Belton play live was last month at the Prep Hoops Top 250 camp, and I must say that I came away really impressed. He is a long 6’7, but he moves really well and has the footwork to keep up with much smaller players. When it comes to scoring down in the post, he isn’t afraid of contact and is willing to play some old school bully ball down there. He can score the ball over either shoulder, and has a really solid array of post moves for such a young age. If he is able to keep growing another few inches, he might be the next big man to blow up out of north Louisiana.
Tedrick Williams 6’6 Chalmette
Williams is a really interesting prospect to keep an eye on over the next few years. He has all of the skills that are required to be a really good high school player and college prospect, it is just a matter of whether or not he is able to put it all together. He has a solid handle, and is capable of taking even smaller guys off the bounce, but he has a bad habit of forcing things once the initial defender is out of the way. Once he get to the rim, however, he is a really tough kid to stop from scoring, and can even rise up and throw down some big time dunks in traffic. On the defensive end, he is still a work in progress as far as knowing positioning and where to be, but he has a solid frame and moves his feet well enough to become an above average defender.
