Inside the Numbers: Tea Area Titans
Dating back a couple years to the 2016-17 season, Tea Area has been a dominant force in the Dakota XII Conference and Class A.
Despite an injury scare by Noah Freidel, who missed a couple games during the middle of the year this past season, the Titans made it back to the state tournament and the state championship.
Check out some of the stats from the Titans’ 2017-18 season in which they finished 19-6:

The Titans finished the season as one of the most dangerous teams with Freidel looking healthier from his injury earlier in the year. They averaged about 69.8 points per game and had a 17.3 scoring margin over the course of the season.

The Titans scored early and often during the season. They scored 766 points in the first half, and didn’t slow down much in the second half either scoring 757. They also outscored their opponents by 107 in the first quarter and by 96 in the second quarter.

The Titans have four returning starters from last years second-place finish. Including Wright State signee Freidel, UC Irvine signee Justin Hohn, Kade Stearns, and Kaleb Joffer. They’ve all played an important role in the recent success the Titans have had.

The Titans finished the season shooting 45 percent from the field, 33.8 rebounds a game, 33 3-point%. They held their opponents to 52.5 points, 36FG%, and 28 3-point%.

The Titans finished the season on a 13-game win streak after having a set back in the middle of the season with a 2-5 record over the span of seven games. They upset No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian in the semi-finals to make it back-to-back state title appearances.
