Houston’s Top Players from MD/DC Top 250 That Played Well Around The Rim
This past Saturday, Park School played host to the Prep Hoops MD/DC Top 250 Exposure Camp. There was a ton of talent on the floor and lots of different prospects made a name for themselves. The Prep Hoops MD/DC team are starting to dish out their awards from the camp. In this piece I take a look at some of the top players that played well around the rim.
2021 Terrance Butler | Bishop McNamara
I wrote about Terrance yesterday being one of the best overall underclassmen. He also has to be recognized under this category because he was tremendous on the boards, offensively and defensively. One thing that was also very promising to see from him was his ability to alter and affect shots on defense.
2020 Joshua Walker | DeMatha
Adam Ayalew wrote about him https://prephoops.com/2018/09/md-top-250-upperclassmen-stock-risers/ but he is another guy that looked comfortable and held his own down low in the post. He was able to box people out for rebounds on both sides of the ball and also showed throughout the day that he has good leaping abilities as he was able to get up for some alley oops. The junior will look to get some playing time this upcoming year at DeMatha.
2020 Timmy Adedire | Perry Hall
The junior at Perry Hall had a nice showing on Saturday. Only standing at 6’2, he was not afraid to get after it and box out guys to grab rebounds. Timmy will play a pivotal role in the success that Perry Hall has this year.
2021 David Brown | McDonogh
David is another guy that was snagged as one of the best underclassmen and part of that reasoning is his ability to attack the boards. He was one of the most explosive athletes in the building on Saturday and is looking to have a big sophomore season at McDonogh School.
2020 James Berry III | Bishop Ireton
The junior at Bishop Ireton was on a mission all day Saturday. He was playing hard on both sides of the ball and left it all out on the floor. He was coming out of nowhere to snag offensive and defensive rebounds. He had a couple nice offensive tips in that were really exciting to watch. Look for Berry to make some noise in the WCAC this winter.
