David Sloan & Chris Harris Workout Video
PrepHoopsIllinois recently checked out a workout with the top JUCO prospect nationally in John A Logan sophomore point guard David Sloan. The lead guard is an elite passer and has insane speed in the open floor. Those are his two biggest strengths. In this workout it was focused on shooting. He has always been a good shooter, but you can definitely tell he has continued that growth in the off season. Range out to beyond the three point arc. Quick release. Works well around ball screens manipulating them and getting his shot off with balance. Crisp ball handler. Without question he is a high-major prospect.
Sloan worked out with his fellow Logan backcourt mate Chris Harris. Illinois prep fans might remember Harris from his days at Lake Forest Academy and with the Illinois Wolves. In those days he was known mostly for his freakish athleticism. After a year at Missouri S&T, Harris is at Logan this year to elevate his stock to play at the highest level he can for the following two seasons. Looked much better as a shooter than we remembered in high school. Great height off the floor and more of a consistent release. Balanced and repeatable mechanics. Mid-major and low-majors need to monitor him this season.
Take a look below at some video of the workout! (Sloan is in the grey shirt and Harris is in green.)
