Number One
Carson McCorkle of Greensboro Day comes in at number one for our 2021 rankings. The 6-foot-3 guard has offers from most Power 5 conferences and is a natural scorer.
This class is loaded at the top and it could have easily have gone to #2 Cam Hayes.
Who’s Next
Kinston’s Dontrez Styles comes in at #3 in the rankings. He is probably the player with the most upside in this class and is going to be the next big-time player out of Kinston, the basketball factory of Eastern North Carolina. He is a large forward that can play and guard multiple positions on the floor.
The Rest of the Best
Redford Dunton of Heritage HS near Raleigh is going to be the man this season for Tilden Brill’s squad. With the departure of Jarren McAllister (Massanutten) and Jayden Gardner (East Carolina), this will be Dunton’s squad. He has really good size at the guard spot at 6-foot-5 and is skilled.
Jalen McDonald out of Knightdale HS is another name to keep on college radars. The 6-foot-4 guard is a very good athlete and can score in bunches. He is long and can defend.
South Granville sophomore guard Bobby Pettiford is another bucket-getter from the eastern part of the state. He is a physically gifted guard that knows the game and has a good basketball IQ.
