Justin Henderson: An Interview
Being a college athlete is a special and unique accomplishment. Playing college basketball is a dream for so many high school players, and only a small percentage see it come to fruition. Justin Henderson recently saw his dream come true by committing to Lake Michigan College. Henderson is a 6’5” forward from Flat Rock who played grassroots basketball with the Downriver Bad Boyz. He’s a versatile player who will bring added toughness to the Lake Michigan College roster. Henderson is an excellent defender who lets his offensive game feed off his defense. I recently caught up with Justin Henderson for a Question and Answer session.
Question:
What do you think has been key to your success in basketball?
Justin Henderson:
I think the key to my success in basketball is my defense. It creates a lot of opportunities for me.
Question:
In what ways do you feel you’ve improved this summer?
Justin Henderson:
I feel that I improved my ball handling and shooting a lot this summer.
Question:
What areas of your game are you focusing on improving?
Justin Henderson:
I’m focusing on improving my off the dribble pull up and attacking the rim.
Question:
You recently committed to Lake Michigan College . How does it feel?
Justin Henderson:
It feels great. It’s like a dream come true. It feels like everything I worked for paid off.
Question:
What are you most excited about as far as college basketball?
Justin Henderson:
I’m very excited to get better and improve my game.
Question:
What advice would you give kids trying to reach the success that you’ve reached?
Justin Henderson:
Stay on your grades first, then hit the gym and never get your priorities mixed up.

How are you preparing for next season?
Justin Henderson:
I’m lifting getting lots of shots up and staying focused.
