250 Expo: Class of 2020 Stock Risers
Asheville High School Guard Tyrece Thompson: Talented player that seems to play even better when the stakes are higher in the game. One of the memorable moments he had was a game winning three point shot for his team in their 2nd game of the day. He is what we would define as a dual threat PG, he can score the ball a high amount but also understands how to get everybody going and running an offense.
White Knoll Guard Jalen Jennings: Jalen is a hooper! He plays the game with toughness, and has a high skillset to go along with it. He has solid height for a guard at 6’3, he used that size to grab rebounds and push the ball up the court for buckets. Certain players that you watch seem to have a business approach to things when they step on the floor and he is one of those players.
Charles B Aycock Guard Myron Poindexter: We love the intensity that he brought to the floor from start to finish, he is a high energy player that doesn’t take any plays off. The defensive end of the court was probably where he showed the most impact, he is constantly pressuring his opponent and forcing turnovers.
Southwest Guilford Wing Bryce Causey: One of the better shooters on the day, he can heat up in a hurry and when he does, it’s a problem for defenders. He moves well without the ball, uses off ball screens well and doesn’t dribble when its not needed, you can tell by the moves he makes offensively that he has put in a fair share of time in the gym perfecting his craft.
Ben L Smith Guard Jordan Williams: Colleges should go ahead and put this young man on their watch list ASAP! The 6’5 guard has a crafty game with a lot of moves and counters with whatever way an opponent tries to defend him. He can score at a high rate from all three levels offensively and locks down his man using his mixture of speed and strength on the defensive end.
