2020 : Upstate Under the Radar Shooters
A team can never have enough shooters on the floor in my opinion. Lets take a look at some players from the Upstate in the 2020 class who can do just that shoot the ball. These players are not house hold names at all around the region and the Palmetto State.
Cody Cowan – Greer HS (pictured on front)
Prep Hoops first saw Cowan this summer at the Sizzlin Summer Shootout at Greenville HS. Cowan 6’4 needed time and space for his shot was a very high percentage shooter from downtown. Cowan must defend a post on the defensive end.
Luke Gilsdorf – Spartanburg HS
Gilsdorf a left-handed shooting guard is back for the Vikings this coming season. Gilsdorf has a nice shot release and good smooth stroke on the floor. Gilsdorf has been home-schooled for a good portion of his career.
James Cooper – Greenville Tech
Cooper a catch-shoot guard has a quick shot release on the floor. Cooper 6’1 will be a strong focal point for the Warriors this season on this young squad. Cooper prefers to sit out on the perimeter and knockdown 3 pointers. Prep Hoops never witnessed Cooper put the ball on the floor.
Sincere Wilmore – Great Falls HS
Wilmore 5’8 is a undersized shooting guard that really plays the game with some fire that’s for sure. Wilmore likes to sit on the wing and knockdown jumpers. Wilmore played on the Grassroots Circuit this summer with the Carolina Pressure 16U.
William Snipes – Dixie HS (Due West)
Snipes isn’t on many peoples radar outside the Upstate and throughout the Palmetto State. Dixie HS is nestled up in the northwest corner of the state near Clemson. Snipes averaged 17.8 ppg and 7.4 rebounds last season for the Hornets. Snipes played on the Grassroots Circuit with Upward Stars Upstate Blue.
