2019 : Breakout Performers
Prep Hoops takes a look at some players we think could really have breakout seasons on the hardwood. Keep a eye on these 5 players this season from the 2019 class.
Crosby Harris-James – Ridge View HS
Harris-James is the catalyst of the Blazers 4-A State Championship team a year ago. Harris-James sees the floor extremely well and really has a knack to score the ball. Harris-James never seems to take plays off while on the floor while pressuring the ball 94 feet. Harris-James has received interest from Francis Marion (SC) (NCAA D2), Limestone (SC), Southern Wesleyan (SC) and South Carolina State. Harris-James could easily pick up for interest this coming season.
Robert Johnson – Eau Claire HS (Columbia)
Johnson 6’2 is a extremely bouncy and athletic combo guard. Johnson really excels in the transition game for the Shamrocks. Johnson will be the go-to guy for the Shamrocks with the departure of Asanti Price to Combine Academy (NC).
Frank Lee – Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS
Lee 6’2 has the ability to fight off defenders with his size. Lee shows to have a uncanny court awareness and court vision. Lee has toned up his body and has the ability to knockdown open shots.
Devin Ramsey – West Ashley HS (Charleston) (pictured on front)
Ramsey 6’7 has bounced around over the years. Ramsey looks to have a big season for Head Coach Ronnie Dupre and the Wildcats. Ramsey has the ability to hit 10-12 footers on the floor. Ramsey a thick framed post player needs to demand the ball in the post at times. Ramsey has played at First Baptist and Northwood Academy before coming over to West Ashley HS last season.
Devin Butler – Ridgeland-Hardeeville HS (Ridgeland)
Butler 6’2 plays alongside his brother Rashamel. Butler uses his body to fight off defenders and shows to have good body control. Butler averaged 11.3 ppg last season for the Jaguars.
