Who’s Next in NC
The last three classes from NC have been off the charts, 2016 produced 3 first rounds NBA Draft picks, the 2017 class was strong and 2018 produced 60+ Division One prospects. The class of 2020 and 2021 is going to be right up there with the previously mentioned classes.
2020 is strong at the top with Jaden Springer, Isaiah Todd, Jalen Cone, Day’Ron Sharpe (UNC commit), and more.
Todd has transferred in from Virginia and will be attending Trinity Academy in Raleigh. He is considered a top 10 prospect in the class. He is long and athletic, stands at 6-10, and is a monster on defense with his rebounding and shot-blocking ability.
Springer is considered a top 25 recruit in the country and Cone is already making headlines with his athletic ability to finish at the rim and drawing comparisons to Dennis Smith of the Dallas Mavericks.
Sharpe is a old school big man that can score in the post and can rebound well. He has soft hands and can catch anything thrown his way. He is another Garner Road (Adidas) circuit player that will remind a lot of North Carolina fans of Isaiah Hicks and Kennedy Meeks combined.
Jaden Seymour of Northside Christian has to be on the top of everyones list for the 2020 class. He is long at 6’7 and is so versatile. He can guard multiple positions on the floor and can score from a lot of different positions on the floor.
In the 2021 class, Camren Hayes (Greensboro Day) and Carson McCorkle (Greensboro Day) are the top two players in the state, and both are rising sophomores at Greensboro Day. Hayes is one of the top point guards in the class and has a really good frame and size. McCorkle is a just a basketball prodigy. It is so much fun to watch him play and dissect defenses. He can score against anyone and Is a threat to knock down the ling shot.
