Where Do I Go? Harnett County Area
With the month of September quickly approaching, the question that many college coaches are asking at this point are what schools should I drop in to see during open gym season? Well we have got you covered with some of the places that schools at each level should drop into, so get your note pads and GPS system ready for Open Gym season.
Grace Christian School (2601 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Sanford, NC 27332): Grace Christian features a nice amount of seniors and a junior that all can play at the college level. 2019 Guards Nate Yow & Evan Cheek are both players that colleges at the D2 & D3 levels should be coming to see while Low Major and D2 programs should be dropping in to see 6’10 forward Julian Steinfield. 2020 Forward Allan Taylor is a player that we are still determining which level he can play at but he is a college prospect without a doubt.
Overhills High School (2495 Ray Rd, Spring Lake, NC 28390): Not too far from Grace Christian is Overhills which is a program that will have multiple college prospects. Although they lost a high amount of talent, the Jaguars will bring back 2021 Guard Cinque Lemon as well as bringing in 2020 Guard Jase Ford. We feel both of these young men are scholarship worthy players without a doubt, it will be just a matter of which level. Colleges should also be keeping an eye on 2019 Forward Jaylen Moore, he has been playing well since returning from injury, and is a player that has a chance to do some very nice things during his senior year.
Southern Lee High School (2301 Tramway Rd, Sanford, NC 27332): We didn’t get to see Southern Lee a ton last season but we got to see them this summer and one player in particular that caught our attention was 2019 Guard Khalil Ridges. Last season he had a tremendous season putting together nice numbers and being named Conference Player of the Year, now he will be looked to do even more for his squad. At about 6’1 he isn’t the tallest Guard which may impact his level but overall he is talented and can play on the next level somewhere.
Western Harnett High (10637 NC 27 W, Lillington, NC 27546): Junior Forward Tobias Dillard is a player that colleges should watch, At 6’4 with a nice wingspan, you he blocks shots at such a high level, once he adds some upper body muscle he will make himself that much more of a complete player. Junior Forward Anthony Brewington is an absolute bruiser, creating contact to get to the foul line as well as playing through that same contact to finish plays.
