5’9, PG Jalen Benjamin (Leesville Road)-Can get so much done with the ball in his hands; can score off the dribble; consistent shooter; may be a little too thin/frail to be HM; could put on some muscle/weight; great passing ability; dad Ishua played at NC State .
6’2, G Jackson Gammons (Calvary Day)-Strong ability to knock down shots off the catch or off the bounce; scorer with a strong ability to facilitate at the PG spot;good defender; good decision maker; high basketball IQ;
6’7 SF Brice Williams (Hopewell HS)-Great Scorer at all three levels, Excellent 3 point shooter who can put the ball on the floor and get to any spot he wants and rise over the top of defenders, great length and athleticism on the defensive end, Excellent defensive rebounder who will grab it and lead the break. Father is leading scorer in Charlotte histroy. Has Charlotte offer along with Holy Cross and Lafayette.
6’9, F Ben Beeker (Hendersonville HS)-Strong/Skilled Big man, soft touch around the rim, extremely fundamentally sound, above average passer of the basketball, 4.0 GPA
6’2, G Talton Jones (Trinity Christian)-One of the best passers/playmakers in the state regardless of class, he’s gotten better shooting the ball and is outstanding defensive player. Wants to guard the oppositions best player; I feel he is under-recruited and could be a big sleeper.
6’7, F Derricko Williams (York Prep, SC)-One of the most athletic players in the class; can jump out of the building; closest jumping ability I have seen in 2019 is Jalen Lecque; strong rebounder; strong upper-body; physical specimen; Kinston born and bred.
6’3, G Ren Dyer (North Buncombe HS)-Excellent rebounder for his size, above average nose for the basketball, can make the 3-point shot and mid-range scorer, just needs repetition; loves to attack the offensive and defensive glass, EXTREMLY tough, makes winning plays, a coach’s dream, will have to cut his heart out in order to beat him. Liken him to Draymond Green. Averaged 27 pts and 12 Rebounds in HS junior campaign.
2020’s
6’0, G Tommy Murr (Beach HS, Savannah, GA)-Skilled; high basketball; scorer; had 38 points in game I watched; strong ability to draw fouls and get opposing guards in foul trouble; does a god job of passing with either hand; crafty; averaged 25ppg over 4 games at Gibbons. Interests:
Belmont, Stephen F Austin, Wofford, Liberty, Samford, North Alabama, Mercer, Eastern Illinois, Wright St, Lipscomb & Campbell.
6’2 G Ford Cooper (Carmel Christian)-high basketball IQ; plays with a high motor; He attacks the paint and the rim at will; likes to get his teammates involved and always makes the right pass; played really well in the state championship game; good size; strong;
