Top 250 Expo Early Entries: Guards
The PrepHoops Oregon Top 250 Expo takes place on September 15th at Parkrose High School in Portland, and there’s still time to sign up! If you haven’t done so yet, you can do that right here.
A number of college programs will be in attendance and you’ll get the opportunity to play in front of them against some legitimate competition – some of which has already signed up. Here are some of the top backcourt performers you’ll get to play against.
Jesse White (2020 Barlow HS)
The #2 ranked player in the Class of 2020 admittedly had a slow start over the summer, but got into a groove with his high school team in June which carried over into July with Nike Team Northwest 16U. An outstanding shooter and playmaker, the 6-foot White has been working on getting more athletic with his game. He’ll no doubt be one of the toughest guys to guard at the showcase.
Brock Henry (2019 Southridge HS)
More of a supporting cast member at Southridge as a junior, the 6-foot-3 guard is ready to take on a leading role for the Skyhawks this season. Already proven as a shooter, he showed off his ability to make athletic drives to the basket with both Southridge in June ball and with Nike Team Northwest. Henry currently ranks #40 in the Class of 2019 but should easily move up in the rankings the next update.
Colton Gorski (2019 Sandy HS)
The tough 6-foot-2 combo guard can do damage either sniping away from the perimeter or using his body on tough moves into the lane. Gorski was one of the top guns on Nike Team Northwest second 17U team and will be a tough cover at the event due to his skills and size. He currently stands at #37 in the Class of 2019 rankings.
Trevon Richmond (2019 Jefferson HS)
Richmond may be a bit overlooked given the fact he was and will likely be a supporting cast member – at Roosevelt last year and at Jefferson this season. But the 6-foot rising senior simply makes plays on both ends of the floor with his seemingly unlimited energy and nose for the ball. Despite his diminutive size and frame, Richmond is a tremendous rebounder and should be one of the top workers at the showcase.
Other notable 2019 guards in attendance (listed with current PrepHoops ranking): #30, Tyler Newsom (2019 Pendleton HS), #41 Caden Dickson (2019 Tualatin HS), #43 Ameer Muhammed (2019 David Douglas HS)
