We saw a glimpse of the type of impact Jason Lewis could have at Whitman over the summer. He earned player of the week honors to open up his summer league campaign, and showed that he has the potential to be one of the best primary scoring options in Montgomery County this season.
KYRESE MULLEN | ARCHBISHOP CARROLL ’21
Kyrese Mullen is a rugged bruising big man with a tremendous motor, and will fit in right away in the toughest league in the country. His ability to eat space inside and help his team control the glass is a valuable asset that will translate immediately.
WOODY NEWTON | MT. ZION PREP ’20
All-DCIAA standout Woody Newton has transferred from McKinley Tech to Mt. Zion Prep, a move that has been anticipated for some time now. Standing a legit 6-foot-8, Newton showed over the summer that he is gaining more command of his body. As Newton continues to mature and develop both physically and mentally, we will start to see his true potential.
KYLE ROSE | ELEANOR ROOSEVELT ’19
Kyle Rose is a major acquisition for Eleanor Roosevelt. The 6-foot-3 playmaking southpaw will likely step in right away and assume a major role on both ends of the court for what is looking like what could be one of the best teams in the state of Maryland, public or private.
JOHN SQUARE | ST. JOHN’S ’20
Florida native John Square was a breakout performer at the Capitol Hoops Summer League, and he stood out on the UAA with the Florida Vipers as well. The and long-limbed 6-foot-5+ wing will bolster the Cadets front court while adding versatility.
