Release: Forum Tip-Off Classic Field
The last few years, the Forum Tip-Off Classic has proven to be the state’s best event for high school teams as it annually puts together the best matchups the state has all in one gym for one day. This year is no different with six games at Southport Fieldhouse. Here is the lineup:
December 8th
Southport High School
Schedule:
Southport vs. Frankton – 12:00 PM ET
Southport has had a young core that is finally upperclassmen and has enough players that they could really put a good season together but Frankton is one of the best small school programs in the state with multiple State Titles. Don’t be shocked if the Senior Class of Frankton puts on a show.
Carmel vs. Jeffersonville – 1:40 PM ET
Carmel is one of the best coached teams in the state with a lot of really good pieces including John-Michael Mulloy (Butler commit), Luke Heady, and Andrew Owens. Jeff has talented junior Tre Coleman who already has Big Ten offers and interest. Will be an interesting contrast of styles with the X’s and O’s.
Brownsburg vs. New Castle – 3:20 PM ET
Brownsburg should be one of the state’s best teams, as should New Castle. However, will Mason Gillis be healthy? That is a big question but regardless Luke Bumbalough has proven he’s going to put up some buckets and he will be going head-to-head with Cam Alford and that will be a fun offensive matchup.
HSE vs. Culver Academies – 5:00 PM ET
Hamilton Southeastern will be one of those teams that will need to finally step up. The talent is there for them to be really good but Culver has proven they are that good. Led by Ethan Brittain-Watts and Trey Galloway, they will be looking to repeat as State Champions. A tough matchup for HSE early in the season.
Cathedral vs. Zionsville – 6:40 PM ET
This will be a matchup of two of the best 4A teams in the state. Both should start ranked in the Top 10 in 4A if not Top 5. Cathedral should be more well-rounded that last season and Zionsville brings back so many players they should be on it from the jump. Great matchup and probably the most competitive.
Center Grove vs. La Lumiere – 8:30 PM ET
Center Grove looks like they could be the #1 team to start the season with the best player in the state on their roster in Trayce Jackson-Davis. His main competitor for that spot was Keion Brooks before he transferred to La Lumiere. However, we still get that matchup and will be a big draw for fans of national level recruits as they should put on a show on the night cap.
