Recruiting Report: Zach Rinehart (2019)
Size is always a premium and one of those players that has stepped up his game in the last year to draw a wide array of interest is Avon (IN) power forward Zach Rinehart.
The 6’7 forward is an up-and-coming post player who found some success this year with Indiana Elite Fastbreak 2019. He was really agile and impactful in not only the half court but in the full court, getting up and down the floor and having the skill to finish plays with some consistency.
Rinehart is looking more and more like a guy that is going to blossom in college, rather than high school, as he’s been on a pretty steady trajectory the last year or so and is just now getting to the point where he can take over stretches of games.
With that, a few different levels of schools have come into play as they try and figure out how they can use him. He has interest from NAIA programs such as Bethel, Taylor, IU-Kokomo, Indiana Tech, Milligan, and Lincoln College. He also has some DII interest from California (PA), Waldorf, and Malone.
This Fall will be his first real recruiting trip as he heads out for some visits to Indiana Tech on September 9th, IU-Kokomo on September 15th, and California on September 22nd. Rinehart has already visited Bethel College this past Spring and just came back from the Taylor Elite Camp.
Look for Rinehart and Avon to have a big Winter this year as they have a few move-ins as well as a new direction with their head coach. The development of Rinehart as a high-level rebounder and a guy that can play with pace should allow this team to flow a little more than they have in past years.
