Recruiting Report: Tevin Smith (2021)
Class of 2021 Tevin Smith is one of the top wings in the state of Illinois. The Danville wing is a powerful slasher with very good athleticism. Coast to coast takes finishing above the rim. His jump shot was on point as well drilling them from both mid-range and three throughout July with Meanstreets 15U. He is primed to take over at Danville as the go to scorer.
Smith spoke about playing with Meanstreets 15U.
“The summer has been good. I have been playing with them over the years. They have made me better.”
Where has he seen the most improvement in his game?
“My shooting from mid-range and getting physically stronger.”
He played in June with his high school squad. Little different after losing top 10 senior from last season Kendle Moore.
“We did better than what people expected. We only lost like four games. We are a young team that should be good this year.”
Goals for this upcoming season?
“Do better than last year. Prove people wrong. Just because we are young doesn’t mean we can’t win.”
He talked about his early recruitment.
“The newest schools interested are Butler and Oregon. I have an offer from UT-Martin. Also interest from Marquette, Indiana, and Illinois State.”
