Recruiting Report: Terry Hicks (2019)
One of the more unknown wing prospects in the state is Fishers’ Terry Hicks. The 6’5 small forward is an undersized wing and has the ability to matchup with almost anyone on the floor. He is an agile guy who is getting better at making plays with the ball in his hands. Hicks can play either the two guard position or on the wing and he has a skill set that many small schools would love to have.
So far, Hicks has been contacted and offered a spot by Amherst, MIT, Northern Michigan, Rose-Hulman, and Wabash College. He is a high academic student and has visited some very prestigious schools such as Brown, Harvard, and Penn to name a few. He also has plans in the works to visit Brown, Columbia, Northern Michigan, and Purdue Northwest. Hicks will be well equipped wherever he goes to play due to his outstanding academic achievement.
Hicks ran with Team Teague this summer and really impressed college coaches. He was able to work on his skills to become a more well-rounded player and Hicks wants to play guard at the next level so he worked on his transitions in both shooting the ball and dribbling. Hicks also said that he has been working on his vertical leap. College coaches were impressed with his versatility first and foremost on both ends but they also came away impressed with his shooting ability.
Hicks is a guy who you will be able to count on to spread the ball and make plays for his teammates, not just himself. His versatility is paramount to his game as he is able to defend and play multiple spots on the floor while making plays at all spots on the floor. He could still grow a little bit which would make him an even tougher task to defend. Hicks will set up his team for success by doing all the little things right and while his recruitment is still wide open, this winter he will be a hot commodity to schools looking to fill out their roster.
