Recruiting Report: Noah Freidel Talks D1 Offer
For the longest time basketball fans in South Dakota have wondered, is Noah Freidel good enough to play D1 basketball? If you weren’t sure you now have your answer.
On August 3rd Tea Area 2019 wing Noah Freidel announced the following:
“(I’m) blessed to announce I have received a D1 offer from Wright State University,” Noah tweeted with Go Raiders in closure. The Raiders Head Coach is non other than Scott Nagy, a coach at South Dakota State for 21 seasons (1995 to 2016).
So what was it like for Noah to receive the offer from Coach Naggy and Wright State?
“It was awesome!” Noah said. “All the work had finally payed off and it was nice to get rewarded! But they offered during my last tourney so I still had a couple games I had to focus on after.”
Noah led the Attack to a 23-10 season at 17u play and was named a first team all state player for the 17 and Under four month season. Noah has been to see the schools that have offered scholarships – the last also includes Augustana, Sioux Falls, Minnesota State-Moorhead, and more – and it doesn’t look like he will need much more time to decide.
“(I don’t think I need to take any more visits) I think I got them all out of the way already,” Noah said.
Does Freidel stay local and play for a strong program in the NSIC or head east to play division one basketball at Wright State? That’s the next decision he has to make.
