Last time we checked in with Mike Gray was at the beginning of the year in January. Since then, the sophomore guard has added a slew of Division I scholarship offers along with interest from high-major programs (Kansas, Georgetown, and Virginia to name a few).
The offers include Canisius College, Drake University, James Madison University, Hampton University, and most recently Virginia Tech.

Since it’s quite early in the recruiting process for Gray, he is taking it one day at a time and is considering every school that sends interest his way.
“I’m just keeping an open mind for all the schools,” Gray said.
Check out our previous prospect spotlight of Gray here.
The 6-foot-2 PG started off his high school career with James Monroe in Fredericksburg but transferred to Blue Ridge, located in St. George. Following the transfer, he joined the class of 2021. As far as the upcoming season is concerned, Gray is excited with what the Barons have.
“It’s looking good, we have some good pieces,” Gray said. “We can make a run for a state championship.”
Gray is crafty with the rock in his hands and can finish around the basket in multiple ways. He also has the ability to knock down a jumper from beyond the arc. With his length, there is no question that he can be a solid combo guard at the college level.
Gray runs with a talented Team Loaded VA team through the AAU season and led the team to a 40-0 record. His performances have landed him the No. 10 slot on the Prep Hoops Virginia class of 2021 rankings.

When it comes to his development, Gray has been hitting the dojo this summer as he looks to improve his strength heading into the school season. You can tell from the highlights above, that the training has been paying off when he attacks the rim and gets bumped by a defender.
For all of you high school hoops fans that are intrigued by up-and-coming talent:
Keep Mike Gray on your radar.
