Recruiting Report: Martice Mitchell (2020)
Bloom 6’9” 2020 center Martice Mitchell displayed his high flying abilities with the Mac Irvin Fire 16U during July. Regularly played above the rim with rim rattling jams. Even had a two handed rock the cradle that was very impressive in one game we caught. His college potential comes with his rim running and protecting the rim with his shot blocking.
How has the spring and summer gone with the Mac Irvin Fire 16U?
“It has been good. We got off to a rough start at the beginning of the season and had a lot of losses in the EYBL. We had a new team in July and played well.”
What areas of his game is he working on the most?
“I am working on my handles so I can develop into more of a wing. I could already shoot so I am trying to pack on strength and work on my handles.”
Mitchell updated PHI on the latest with his recruitment.
“I am getting recruited by a lot of schools right now. Ever since I got the St. Louis offer I have had schools calling and texting me. Miami (OH), Tulsa, Valpo, and Illinois State. Illinois State and St. Louis have offered.”
He went in to what stands out about St. Louis University in his eyes.
“I like that it is a mid-major plus D1. I am supposed to be going down to see the campus. Everybody tells me they have nice facilities and a good campus.”
