Recruiting Report: Frank Jakubicek (2020)
Cary Grove 2020 post Frank Jakubicek has slimmed down since we last saw him in the spring it seemed. During July with the Illinois Wolves he was able to show more quickness and athleticism because of it. He finishes well around the hoop being very efficient when the ball touches his hands. Solid rebounder and can occasionally hit a mid-range jumper.
He spoke about his high school season.
“High school season went alright. We had a new coach we were rebuilding the program. I think we went about .500. We are going to be better this year.”
Then he transitioned to playing with a new travel team in the Illinois Wolves 16U.
“I like it a lot. This is my first year with them. I like the coaches and it is a good fit for me.”
How would he describe his game?
“I think I am a four man that can play on the perimeter, but also bang down low. I can guard perimeter players and also in the post.”
The rising junior broke down the colleges he has heard from so far.
“I have gotten some texts and calls from Liberty, Miami (OH), Northern Illinois, and those are the main ones.”
DePaul recently offered him after their elite camp.
