Recruiting Report: Carter Whitt (2021)
Class of 2021 PG Carter Whitt stood out throughout the week at Hoop Group Future All-American Camp, and earned a Top-20 All-Star nod as a result. During a recent interview with Prep Hoops, the high IQ lead guard prospect evaluated his recent performance, touched on his goals, and broke down his overall game.
PH: How would you rate your performance at camp? 1-10 (10 being best), and why?
CW: “7. I think i could’ve done some things better.”
PH: What’s the most underrated part about your overall game?
CW: “Rebounding.”
PH: What was the biggest thing you learned during the EYBL season?
CW: “I learned how important it is to be able to shoot.”
PH: How are your grades?
CW: “My grades aren’t bad. I have about a 3.6 GPA.”
PH: Which schools have offered you scholarships?
CW: “James Madison, High Point, Liberty, MTSU, Ole Miss.”
PH: What do you think you need to work on?
CW: “I think I need to work on explosiveness.”
PH: What’s the most improved part of your game in the last 6 months?
CW: “I think in the last 6 months I’ve really improved my range on my three ball.”
PH: What are your short and long term goals?
CW: “Short term, to have a good high school season. Win the state championship. Play the best I can play. Long term, be able to choose any school I want. Be a McDonalds All-American, and get drafted.”
PH: How do you see yourself fitting in at the next level?
CW: “I feel like my game should transition to the next level pretty well. After playing 17u EYB as a freshman I have a lot of experience playing against older guys. I also know how to play, so I think that should help me at the next level.
