Recruiting Report: Camden Arndt (2019)
Morris Area 2019 Camden Arndt is that player that you can’t put a position on. Camden had a great 17u season with Comets K and is a two-sport recruited stud.
Arndt. We’ve seen Camden handle the ball both for Morris Area and at times for Comets K, he’s got the size to play around the basket to grab double figure boards and score physically in the paint, or he can go on the wing and make some plays as a scoring wing. All of these items were seen when Camden was playing with Comets K this year and leading them into at one point the top five 17u teams in the state.
“I learned a lot this year,” Camden said. “I feel like I learned how to handle pressure and finishing at the rim much better.
“Some of the top moments we had this year I would say is beating Team Carol Premier after being down 20 in the second half and off the court Vegas was an amazing time.”
Now the focus for Camden is the football season, and then basketball. Morris Area will have one of the best frontcourts in all of small school basketball in Minnesota this year, and maybe one of the best overall. They have the do everything Arndt, one of the top freshmen-to-be in the state of Minnesota (Jackson Loge), and their top leading scorer returning (Jaret Johnson).
“Next year’s season I think can be a great year,” Camden said. “We have our top three scores coming back as in Jackson Loge and Jaret Johnson and our section is pretty open so we hope to make a run in the playoffs.”
Morris Area will be a top 20 level team in Class AA and they will have to battle New London-Spicer, Jackson County Central, and Redwood Valley for a spot in the state tournament.
Camden also has to look into his future at the college level. What is the best fit academically? How far does Camden want to go from home? Will he play basketball in college? Football in college? Could he handle playing both? Lots of decisions to be made for Camden but then again, many kids would love to be in his position.
“Recently Mayville State, Jamestown, and Concordia-Moorhead have been in contact plus I went to Bemidji State camp early this month,” Arndt said. “I have an offer from South Dakota State for football and have been in contact with North Dakota and Minnesota-Duluth as well.”
***In the near future we will have an off the floor feature with Camden that you will surely want to read about. Stay tuned, Arndt is an even better young man off the floor.
