Recruiting Report: Allen Plunkett (2019)
The wing position in 2019 has proved time and time again in Indiana that it is going to be a group of difference makers. One to watch for this winter as he gets back with his South Putnam (IN) team is Allen Plunkett.
Plunkett, a 6’5 wing with size and athleticism, should be in line for a big winter as he’s the predominant player in his region and will be able to control and take over games, more so than ever after developing more of a perimeter game in the last year.
While he has never been a big time shooter, he’s at his best right now and can really knock it down from deep and play with the ball in his hands, driving to the rim much cleaner and efficiently. However, he’s built really well to be an interior forward who can rebound, bully defenders, and create mismatches with that athleticism.
He already has a pair of offers with Bethel College and Urbana but a number of teams are looking to possibly join the fold. Wabash, Anderson, DePauw, Indiana Tech, Wittenberg, and Elmhurst are now showing quite a bit of interest following his summer with Indiana Faith 2019.
Looking ahead, Plunkett will take a visit to Anderson next week on September 28th. While things are still early, Plunkett has been looking to set up some other visits as well with Indiana Tech, Wittenberg, and Elmhurst trying to get him on campus. He’s already been to Bethel, Wabash, and DePauw recently.
