Prospect Spotlight: Cash Cowdery (2021)
Middleton 6-foot-2 wing Cash Cowdery is a guy that can do a little bit of everything on the hardwood.
The sophomore is coming into his second season with the Vikings with high hopes, and says he’ll be able to provide his team with ample scoring and defense this winter.
“I’m a bigger guard, so I really like to rebound and score. I can get in there for offensive rebounds and put some in. And I also like to shoot, so I provide value to the team that way,” said Cowdery, Idaho’s 19th-ranked 2021.
“On the other end, I’ve become a lot better defender. I was guarding a lot more quicker guys this summer, so that made me a better defender.”
His defensive prowess was improved while playing with Idaho Select 15U, one of the state’s best teams. And now, he’ll shift his focus to his sophomore season.
Cowdery — who is also a quarterback on the football team — was on varsity basketball squad his freshman year, and although he didn’t start, he played quite a bit.
“This year, I’m looking to be a starter and average double-digit points and get a lot of rebounds and assists,” he said.
“This year, we want to get deep into the playoffs. We got a new coach and the players so I definitely think we have all the tools to get back to state. And I’m looking to have a breakout sophomore season.”
