Prospect Spotlight: Brett Bosley (2021)
If you ran down a list of high schools in Indiana and looked for schools that turn up D1 talent, the Paoli Rams may not be in the first 50 schools that you think of. In a town known for their ski resort, here in a few years they may be known for something else – their basketball.
After going 21-3 last year, Paoli lost five seniors but no one more impactful than that of Brett Bosley. The 6’5 small forward is an animal who is able to do so much with his game already that no one in the area can really contain him. Bosley was a big part of the success last year and moving forward will be the reason for the success.
Bosley is a wing who already at this point outmuscle defenders and get whatever look he really wants. He is an athletic freak and showed that last year by throwing down dunks in transition. He can drive pretty efficiently from the wing to the basket and is able to finish at the rim. Bosley is a guy who can get a board and run the ball up the floor and score at the other end. He’s a solid passer out of the post and that seems to be where he is most effective right now.
Bosley is already receiving interest from Indiana Wesleyan, Morehead State, and Purdue. He has gone on an unofficial visit to Purdue and is planning to take one to Morehead State on September 15th. Interest in Bosley at this stage isn’t crazy, when he finds a consistent jumper he could turn into one of the best players in the class of 2021 in the state. This summer he worked on his jumper to make it more consistent and he has also been working on his handles in order to better create off the wing.
Once Bosley shows that he can hit the pull-up jumper as well as finish at the rim, you can expect more schools to jump in the recruitment. He probably isn’t a true wing player but one who will do a lot of his work on the inside with his strength and uncanny ability to put the ball in the basket. Once he reigns in his shot and can trust it, Bosley is going to be very dangerous for opposing teams to have to handle. Paoli and Bosley are going to be a team to watch over the next few years in the Southern part of the state,
