Prospect Intro: Danye Frazier (2022)
Western Kentucky’s 2022 class is full of talent. There are multiple talented big men with high ceilings and Madisonville is home to a young point guard with a lot of potential. Madisonville-North Hopkins freshman Danye Frazier is a name to know in the class and could end up being a competitor for top point guard in what is a loaded position group in 2022. Frazier is a self described “play making point guard because I can get my teammates involved while also being able to score the ball.” Frazier excels off the dribble and is working to improve as a jump shooter. Heading into his freshman year, Danye just wants to help his team win, “I expect to help the team out as much as I can by playing my role to help us win. I can make an impact by being a point guard and make scoring opportunities for Ksuan Casey and Kenny White a lot easier.”
Frazier played his 14u AAU season for his dad on a team called Madisonville Elite. Danye told me, “Our season went really well as we played against very good competition and won a lot of games.” As part of his role on Madisonville Elite, Frazier became more of a floor general and is hoping to take that attitude into the high school season as he hopes to compete for playing time on a Maroon team that should contend to be the best team in the second region. As far as goals for his first year of high school basketball, Danye wants to “remain a coachable player, keep a 4.0 GPA, and help my team as much as I can.” Frazier’s goal for Madisonville is simple, “I want to win a state championship”. There is a lot of talent on the Madisonville roster and Danye Frazier is just hoping for a chance to contribute and help his team win. Look for Danye to raise his stock over the next season and eventually contend to be a top point guard in the 2022 class.
