Program Awards: Mercury Elite
Now that the travel team season has wrapped up we dive into programs across the state looking at their teams in a variety of categories in our Program Awards! Today we examine Mercury Elite!
Program MVP
Mitch Mascari (Geneva)
Mascari had a strong close to the summer for Mercury Elite. The 17U wing has size for position along with the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter. Really liked how he elevated his game against quality competition.
Top 2019 Prospect
Aidan Shore (Sterling)
Shore is a long and lean 6’10” center that is becoming a highly sought after prospect at the D2 level. The Sterling rising senior did a nice job throughout the month of July protecting the rim as well as rebounding. Efficient with his touches around the hoop.
Top 2020/2021 Prospect
Connor Webb (Lisle)
Long and projectable wing with size for position. Webb is a player worth monitoring over the high school season as he could be a stock riser during the season.
Sleeper
Dylan Engler (Oswego)
Engler impressed playing well within his role for Mercury Elite. Athletic wing that can finish around the hoop and also shoot it from the perimeter. Did a nice job of doing the little things well to help his team win.
Biggest Stock Riser
Josh Berry (Lyons)
In multiple settings Berry impressed throughout the month of July. He is a lead guard with a good feel for the game and some scoring pop!
