Program Awards: Hoop Dreams
With the 2018 AAU season in the rear view mirror, we are going to dive into programs across the state looking at their teams in a variety of categories in our Program Awards! Today we examine Hoop Dreams!
Program MVP
Jackson Sivills, McCracken County
Sivills had a breakout summer for Hoop Dreams, garnering 4 D1 offers from Rice, Samford, UT-Martin and Kent State. Jackson sits atop our 2020 class rankings and looks to stay on top for a while. Standing 6’6 with deep range, Jackson continues to add to his game and should see a lot more defensive attention this season at McCracken.
Top 2019 Prospect
Richard Ninamou, Seneca
Ninamou was one of only 3 2019 players on the Hoop Dreams 17u as most of the roster was composed of 2020 players who played up a grade level. Rich is a tenacious defender who is long and athletic and should be one of the better Seniors in the 7th region this season.
Top 2020/2021 Prospect
Kenny White, Madisonville-North Hopkins
White picked up offers from UT-Martin and Kent State this summer and has possibly the most potential in the state in the class of 2020 due to his length and athleticism. If Kenny finds that consistent motor he’s lacked at times, he can be a special player.
Sleeper
Alex Matthews, John Hardin
Matthews should see a greatly expanded role in the John Hardin offense this season after averaging a double-double last season. What Alex lacks in size, he more than makes up for with toughness and grit. Hard to tell what level of college Matthews ends up at right now but he’s definitely a college player at some level.
Biggest Stock Riser
Jackson Sivills, McCracken County
Jackson racked up the offers this season and is now ranked in our Prep Hoops National rankings for the class of 2020. Look for Sivills to continue to impress as some high major (and high academic) schools are already circling him.
