Players on the Rise
Some players came to play in July and have seen their stock rise in a positive way by playing strong in front of college coaches. Here is a look at some of the players from around the state that have made that case for themselves.
Jayvis Harvey (2019) Southern Durham HS-Harvey is the next really good guard out of Southern Durham HS following in the footsteps of Eastern Kentucky recruit Jomaru Brown. Head Coach David Noel has his top player for the upcoming season in Harvey. He is a skilled guard that can fill up the scoring column. He has picked up Division One offers from The Citadel, UNC-Asheville, St. Bonaventure, Hofstra and James Madison.
Jake Van der Heijden (2019) Ravenscroft School-The long and athletic wing is 205 pounds of scoring. He is able to stretch the floor with his shooting and can finish at the rim. He picked up a lot of offers playing with Team Wall and just recently chose Bucknell as his college destination.
Isaiah Wilkins (2018) Mt. Tabor HS-Wilkins used playing on the Nike circuit with Team CP3 as a way to turn his recruitment into a commitment to Virginia Tech. The burly and strong scoring wing had originally decided to attend Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia and use a prep year. Instead, he showed signs of being able to come in and contribute off the bat for Head Coach Buzz Williams at Virginia Tech.
Stephen Clark (2019) Metrolina Christian-The 6-foot-8 forward from Charlotte spent the summer playing with PSB Wade. He is a big body four that can step out and shoot the ball from deep and can rebound with the best of them. After a strong showing in July, The Citadel has offered the Queen City prospect.
Kadin Shedrick (2019) Holly Springs HS-Has any big in the region had a more productive summer playing with Garner Road on the Adidas circuit than Shedrick? He has picked up offers from Wisconsin, Providence, St. Johns, and Brown recently. He is a high-level student that should be getting some Ivy League schools.
